A prohibition era cousin of the Mojito cocktail, The Southside is one Gin drink that anyone can enjoy! This cocktail is not only refreshing but I’d say it’s even better than a Mojito and that is saying something. Something about fresh lemon juice, the botanicals in Bootleg Botanicals Gin No.6, mint leaves and sugar just work, and they work well. If you’re a fan of lemonade, this is a must try.

Homemade Gin using Bootleg Botanicals Bathtub Gin No.6 Infusion Kit

Step by Step method

  • MAKE

If you don't already have it available, make a batch of simple syrup by dissolving 2 tbsp of cane sugar into 2 tbsp of hot filtered water. Feel free to make as much or as little as you'd like and store the remainder in the refrigerator. Just remember to mix up equal parts sugar to water and you'll be good to go.

  • MUDDLE

Add your mint leaves to a clean shaker and muddle the leaves to release the mint oil.

  • ADD

After your leaves are muddled add in your freshly squeezed lemon juice, gin and ice cubes to the shaker.

  • SHAKE, STRAIN & SERVE

Give your ingredients a good shaking then transfer your cocktail into a stemmed or low ball glass. Garnish with a "spanked" mint sprig and enjoy!
