A surprisingly delicious whiskey based mule that incorporates some non-traditional cocktail ingredients; The Smokey Whiskey Mule is both sweet and spicy. The heat from the ginger beer and Chipotle powder is cooled a bit by the sweet brown sugar notes and the salt from the bacon adds a little extra interest. We found the bacon fat to be a bit of a turn off when it is added to the ice cold beverage but if you’re a bacon / cocktail fan, you should definitely consider giving this one a go.
Brown sugar into your favorite Bourbon Whiskey.
A pinch of Chipotle powder to taste and mix in your ginger beer gently.
In your copper mule mug over ice. You can add a cut up or whole piece of bacon for extra flare.
